October 21 the doctors decided to induce with the risk of needing a c-section. Very high risk
and scary considering my blood clot disorder. Anyhow inducing turned out to be great... The delivery was fairly easy...
I wasn't in labor very long considering the horror stories I had heard. Lily was born at 11:22am
on October 22. Lily weighed 5 lbs. 15 oz. and was healthy at birth. Grandma Pat, Grandpa Jay and Uncle Joe were all there for the delivery. The nurses wanted to take
Lily to the nursery immediately to see the pediatrician, but I wouldn't let them... I wanted to nurse her first so I did and
she latched right on. Jim and Adam arrived shortly after the delivery. Joe was great with the nurses and not letting
them take Lily away before I was ready. I was discharged from the hospital on Sunday and they kept Lily for jaundice
treatments! I thought I was going to go crazy... I had to drive back and forth (30min each way) to the hospital
every four hours to feed her. She came home on Thursday and has been great ever since. The jaundice is totally
gone and she is totally healthy. She sleeps for 4-5 hr stretches and will wake up and just lay in her bassinet till
I pick her up... she barely cries at all. The other night she slept for 7.5 hrs straight. Its great... she is
beautiful and a lot of fun.
